Best thicker comfort

Exped Ultra

Exped · Mid to upper · A bit heavier

A thicker air pad for hips that hurt on minimalist mats.

As an Amazon Associate, Trailkit Outdoor earns from qualifying purchases. Full disclosure

Thickness helps comfort. It does not replace R-value. Read both numbers on the model you are actually buying. Exped publishes them clearly, which is the courtesy. This is the pad for people who have already decided that a little extra weight is cheaper than a bad night.

Who should buy it. Side sleepers on three-season trips who are done suffering.

Best for. Side sleepers who want thickness

Standout limitation. Weight and bulk versus an XLite
