Deuter fits some backs better than Osprey and some worse. The only useful test is weight on your torso. This is the wrong pack to buy for a 12-pound base weight. It earns its mass when the food bag is large.

Who should buy it. Hikers carrying winter loads or bulky car-to-camp-adjacent loads on trail.

Best for. Heavy loads and hot backs

Standout limitation. Heavy
