Active insulation hoody

Patagonia R1 Air

Patagonia · Upper mid · About 10 oz

A breathable fleece-adjacent hoody for moving in cold air.

As an Amazon Associate, Trailkit Outdoor earns from qualifying purchases. Full disclosure

The R1 Air is what you hike in. The puffy is what you put on when you stop. Wearing the puffy uphill is how it gets wet from the inside. This layer needs a shell in rain. It is not waterproof and it is not trying to be.

Who should buy it. Hikers who run cold while moving and hot in a normal fleece.

Best for. Cool-weather hiking when a fleece would soak

Standout limitation. Not a storm layer
